Celebrate National Forest Trails Day. Meet at the Sewee Visitors Center (located 15 miles north of Mount Pleasant, on the east side of Highway 17 North, in Awendaw. Paddle with group to sacred ceremonial rings built by the Coastal Plain Indians more than 4,000 years ago. Includes a 1/2-mile hike between a clam shell mound and oyster shell ring with professional naturalist guides. Roundtrip paddle: 3 miles. Reservations required. A percentage of proceeds benefit an environmental cause.
