Good Local Fun and Food

I agree with previous reviews on the great food, cold beer, and the fantastic value! Always have fun there and enjoy seeing all the locals who drop in on a consistent basis.

Great Hangout!

We have been to the WHALE just about every time we visit the inlet. The food is excellent...fresh and a great bang for your buck! The beer is cold, the bartenders are friendly. Nice place to kick back and relax in a casual atmosphere!

Good Happy Hour

This is a local's bar that tourist's really like when they show up. COLD beer and cheap drink prices; the best food-value (for realy FRESH food, especially the fish) in Murrells Inlet - this is where the local fishermen eat, and there's usually several of 'em in-residence. The juke box is the best around here. I really like the place.

Great Food - Fun Place

Six of us tried the WHALE for lunch twice, four 'flounder specials' on Friday and two grouper sandwiches; one fried and one grilled.
The 'Flounder special' was huge, fresh and delicious; the grouper sandwiches were twice as big as the one's we usually get at Drunken Jack's, almost half the price and BETTER! The place had some 'old timers' at the bar when we arrived but I'm really glad we stayed and ate. The homemade potato chips were the best we've ever had.
We tried it again this week just to see and we've decided the WHALE is the best deal in the Inlet for lunch; even better than Prosser's. Cheap hot dogs, great sandwiches (especially fish and ruben's) and the best 'daily specials' this side of Victoria's Cafe or Mrs. Fish up in Myrtle Beach. The beer is COLD, too! The place was nearly all locals.
